  • VAL WARNER read Modern History at Oxford and has worked as a teacher, freelance copy-editor and freelance writer. She was Creative Writing Fellow at the University College of Swansea and Writer in Residence at the University of Dundee. She has received a Gregory Award. Her Carcanet publications include the pamphlet These Yellow Photos (1971), and the full collections Under the Penthouse (1973) and Before Lunch (1986); The Centenary Corbière (translations of Tristan Corbière, 1975); and an edition of The Collected Poems and Prose of Charlotte Mew (1981).
