Javier Tomeo was born in Aragon. He studied Law and Criminology at the University of Barcelona. He has published six acclaimed novels of which The Coded Letter (1979) and Dear Monster (1985) are recognised as among the best fiction of the post-Franco years. Tomeo's novels have been translated into French and German.
