If it were not for Carcanet, my library would be unbearably impoverished.

Fifty Fifty: Aye Write

Friday 27 Mar 2020, 19:30 to 20:45
Location:

Mitchell Library
Glasgow
G3 7DN
Scotland

Description:

Fifty Fifty - Robyn Marsack and Michael Schmidt with David Kinloch, Billy Letford and Lucy Burnett.

This is a rare glimpse into the inner workings of a small, ambitious press over a period of radical transformation in publishing. Each of Carcanet's fifty years is marked by an exchange of letters - handwritten, typed and now emailed - between an author and the editor. Poets are central, but fiction writers, translators, biographers and critics also contribute to the Carcanet firmament. Robyn Marsack and Michael Schmidt will discuss fifty years of publishing followed by readings from the poets.

Tickets are £10 and can be bought here.
