Heather Beck was born in Wyoming in 1965. She obtained a BA in Literature from Columbia University, New York, then emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1987 where she took an MA in Creative Writing (University of Manchester) and a Ph.D (University of Salford). She teaches at the Manchester Metropolitan University Writing School where she has developed an online MA in Creative Writing. This is her first published novel.
