  • Dennis Joseph Enright was born in Leamington, Warwickshire in 1920. He taught Englishliterature for 25 years, mainly in the East. He was subsequently poetry editor and directorof Chatto-Windus (1974-1982). In addition to writing poetry, he is a prose-writer (fictionfor adults and children, memoirs and criticism) and has edited various anthologies. Helives in London.
