  • Best known for his Viennese dialect German poety, Hans Carl Artmann enjoyed a trilingual upbringing. As well as being a writer, Artmann was a prolific translator; he rendered Edward Lear, Lars Gustafsson, Daisy Ashford and H.P. Lovecraft into German.
