Michael Edwards: American Cathedral in Paris

Friday 22 Nov 2019, 19:00 to 20:00
Location:

The American Cathedral in Paris
23 Avenue George V
Paris
75008

Description:

Sir Michael Edwards, OBE, will be reading poems from his recently published collection, At the Brasserie Lipp. Sir Michael is a literary scholar who is the first Englishman ever to have been elected to the Collège de France and to the Académie Francaise. His strong Christian commitment is reflected in his poetry.

The reading will be co-hosted by the American Cathedral and the Cambridge Society of Paris, as Sir Michael attended Cambridge University (U.K.). Light refreshments, provided by the Cambridge Society, will be served after the reading to a musical accompaniment. Some copies of the book will be available for purchase by members who can have a copy signed by the author.

The event is free of charge, but a collection will be taken to cover the costs of the event with any surplus to be donated to the Cathedral. In order to gauge numbers, prior registration is requested, so those of you who would like to attend, please e-mail Carol Amouyel Kent at magnus.imp@gmail.com. If you would be available to volunteer to help with serving the refreshments and clearing at the end, please also contact Carol.

Please ensure you arrive punctually before 7pm as the Cathedral gates will be closed thereafter.

Friday, November 22, 2019 at 7:00pm in the Cathedral nave.
