Lisa Kelly: Sheringham Reading

Wednesday 20 Nov 2019, 19:30 to 21:00

The Funky Mackeral Cafe
Cliff Road
East Promenade
NR26 8BJ

Lisa Kelly and Phil Hawtin will read at Poetry Funky Mack, Sheringham. Please email for more information.

The power and the glory, not necessarily in that order. Lisa Kelly is yet another reminder of the editorial verve and discernment of Carcanet Press. She is an electric performer, but deeply meditative; mischievous and joyful, acerbic and gentle. Human. Phil Hawtin has moved from description to suggestion, he brings a photographer's eye to his heartfelt narratives. These poets have so far to go, in the very best sense of the phrase.

We love language at The Funky Mack. Come along and lend us your ears. A few quid might help, too.
Maximum of two poems from the audience. There is no mike, so how can it be open?
