Quote of the Day
I'm filled with admiration for what you've achieved, and particularly for the hard work and the 'cottage industry' aspect of it.

Little Unsuspect Paradise presents an evening of poetry with two Cumbria-based poets, Lucy Burnett and Amelia Loulli.

Lucy Burnett's second poetry collection, Tripping Over Clouds, was published in June this year with Carcanet Press / Northern House. Lucy's latest work is inspired by Cumbria's landscapes, from its 'drystone lichen' to the 'herdwick bone-broke heathers'.

A first selection of Amelia Loulli's poetry has just been published in Primers IV (Nine Arches Press) alongside emerging voices Lewis Buxton and Victoria Richards. Primers IV is co-edited by Jane Commane and another Cumbria-based poet, Kim Moore (co-founder of the Kendal Poetry Festival).

Both poets will read from their work and be subject to some very gentle questions from Drs. Polly Atkin and Will Smith.

This event is supported by Great Place Lakes and Dales.

Tickets for this event are free - please reserve them via Eventbrite.
