Description:

Rebecca Goss is taking part in this day-long event in Cambridge, pairing poets with scientists. Find out more below, and register for free tickets here.

Each year, Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge sets an academic theme: a word or phrase, which underpins and guides our extracurricular activity. This year, the theme is 'Connections'

The first in a yearlong series of talks, discussions and performances will be an event we are producing as part of Cambridge University's Festival of Ideas. We have paired eight scientists with eight poets and asked each pair to create some new work on the theme of 'Connections'. Poems based on research methodologies or outcomes, new research ideas using words - anything goes! The only stipulation is that it must be 'connected' to the theme.

The new works will be performed or presented at this event - each in under seven minutes.
