Conor Bowman is the author of five novels and two collections of short stories. He is a native of Galway city. His most recent novel, Hughie Mittman's Fear of Lawn Mowers,was published in April by Hachette Ireland.His favourite writers are Graham Greene and AM Homes. His previous novel, Horace Winter Says Goodbye, was a bestseller in Ireland. Conor also writes songs and plays the piano really badly!

 Mary O' Malley has published eight book sof poetry and her ninth, Gaudent Angeli is due out from Carcanet this September. She has lectured in NUI Galway for many years,and is the Trinity College Writer Fellow for 2019. She has won a number of awards,is published in several languages and is working on a book of essays and a prose book. Both books are on the subject of place. She was awarded the Heimbold Chair of Irish Studies at the University of Villanovain 2013, and has held residencies in Paris, Tarragona and the US. She was writer in resident on the Celtic Explorer, a marine research ship, in 2007 and Valparaiso was written in part on the ship. She has been involved in environmental education,specifically of the ocean, for over twenty five years. She worked at Bog Week and Sea Week. She was also on the organizing team of an international conference on the demilitarisation of the ocean in 1992. She comes from a fishing background, and is currently concerned with the cultural and human fallout from the destruction of the small fishing industry off the West Coast of Ireland fishing industry off the West Coast of Ireland and the rise of questionable EU policy on fishing. She is a regular broadcaster for RTÉ Radio 1.
