Description:

Liverpool Football Club season ticket holder, and former British judo champion Owen Lowery is a tetraplegic who suffered spinal injury in 1987. Since leaving hospital, Owen has gained a First Class Honours Degree and two Master’s Degrees, the most recent of which was in Creative Writing from Bolton University, where he is currently completing his PhD.
His poetry has appeared in Stand, PN Review, The Independent, The Guardian, and The Jewish Chronicle. Owen’s first collection, Otherwise Unchanged, is available from Carcanet Press and celebrates many of his interests, including art, music, literature, military history, and football. Owen was married in 2013, so love and relationships are therefore also a vitally important part of his life and work.

Short film and readings by this poet, former world judo champion and tetraplegic Owen Lowery explores themes of art, literature, military history, love, and football.
