 Alexander Goehr String Quartet Cycle

 A pupil of Olivier Messiaen in the 1950's and a contemporary of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Alexander Goehr is a celebrated contemporary composer, academic and teacher. A unique series of events explores A Life in Music and includes performances of all his String Quartets performed alongside the music of Henry Purcell and poetry by Gabriel Levin.
