Quote of the Day
Devotedly, unostentatiously, Carcanet has evolved into a poetry publisher whose independence of mind and largeness of heart have made everyone who cares about literature feel increasingly admiring and grateful.

Owen Lowery: Mill On The Fleet

Friday 3 May 2019, 13:30 to 14:30

Mill On The Fleet
65 High Street
Gatehouse of Fleet, Castle Douglas

As part of Big Lit festival,  Owen Lowery will be performing Transtitions at Mill On The Fleet. Tickets are £8, and can be bought here.

Former Judo champion Owen Lowery suffered a spinal injury in 1987, became paralysed from the shoulders down and is now dependent on a ventilator to breathe.  Alongside his own transition from able-bodied sports star to disabled poet, he explores themes of transition from climate change, metamorphosis, evolution and migration seen through the lens of poetry and film.

For more information, please see the festival website.
