Quote of the Day
Carcanet has always been the place to look for considerations of purely literary and intellectual merit. Its list relies on the vision and the faith and the energy of people who care about books, and values. It is thus as rare as it is invaluable.

Thomas McCarthy: Prophecy Launch

Thursday 25 Apr 2019, 20:00 to 21:00

Cork City Library
61 Grand Parade

Poet and former librarian Thomas McCarthy's new collection of poems, Prophecy, explores childhood memory, romantic love and the diversity of human attachment and follows the success of critically acclaimed Pandemonium. Illness and recovery, ageing and creativity are sensitively and skilfully handled in Prophecy. Thomas McCarthy began publishing poems while still an undergraduate at University College Cork, and was awarded the Patrick Kavanagh Award when he was just 24.

This is a free launch, taking place as part of Cork City Library's 'World Book Fest'. The full programme of free events can be found here, as well as more information.
