Chris Wallace-Crabbe shortlisted for prestigious Australian prize

Carcanet poet Chris Wallace-Crabbe is on the shortlist for the Australian Literature Society Gold Medal award for a work of outstanding literature published during 2008. He has been recognised for his collection Telling a Hawk from a Handsaw, published by Carcanet in August 2008. The winner will be announced at the July Association for the Study of Australian Literature conference at the Australain National University. The shortlist for the award is as follows: Clanchy, John: Her Father's Daughter (UQP), Garner, Helen: The Spare Room (Text), Juers, Evelyn: House of Exile (Giramondo), Kinsella, John: Divine Comedy: Journeys through a regional geography (UQP), Tsiolkas, Christos: The Slap (Allen & Unwin), Wallace-Crabbe, Chris: Telling a Hawk from a Handsaw (Carcanet).
