Gillian Clarke and Robert Minhinnick at the 2012 Dinefwr Literature Festival

Gillian Clarke Gillian Clarke, National Poet of Wales, and the multi-award-winning Robert Minhinnick have been confirmed for the 2012 Dinefwr Literature Festival. The festival will be held 29 June - 1 July, and tickets are on sale now. To find out more, go to the festival website.

Born in Cardiff, Gillian Clarke is a poet, playwright, editor, broadcaster, lecturer and translator (from Welsh). Her new book of poems, Ice, will be published by Carcanet in October 2012. You can now listen to audio recording of An Evening with Gillian Clarke (at the Oswestry Festival of the Word 2012) on Carcanet's audio page. The recording includes some of Gillian's new poems.

Robert Minhinnick was born in 1952 and lives in south Wales. He has been the winner of a Society of Authors Eric Gregory Award, and has twice won the Forward Prize for best individual poem, while his books of essays have twice won the Wales Book of the Year Prize. Robert Minhinnick edited Poetry Wales magazine from 1997 to 2008. His first novel, Sea Holly (Seren) was shortlisted for the 2008 Royal Society of Literature's Ondaatje Prize. He is an advisor to the environmental charity Sustainable Wales. His New Selected Poems will be published by Carcanet in June 2012.
