Quote of the Day
Your list has always been interesting, idiosyncratic, imaginative and your translations [...] have been a source of pleasure to me.

Web Design

Sample screenshots from WebGuild At Carcanet we receive many compliments about our websites www.carcanet.co.uk and www.pnreview.co.uk. Indeed the Good Web Guide has awarded them four and five stars respectively, and their Recommendation. In response to enquiries I have decided to include this page on our site.

We began using a system called WebGuild in 2001. Since then, WebGuild Media Ltd has evolved its author and publishing website packages in close collaboration with Carcanet and PN Review. As a result of WebGuild solutions, Carcanet, PN Review and our authors and readers began to derive real benefits from our enhanced web presence. In 2005 I was glad to accept an invitation to join the Board of WebGuild Media in an advisory capacity.

WebGuild is easy to use in creating and maintaining an impressive and professional-looking website. It can take a variety forms, depending on your needs. There are big systems like the one which runs our sites (and other sites such as the Independent Publishers Guild, Mango Publishing, and Willan Publishing), to small systems which our authors use to maintain their sites (John Gallas, Chris McCully, Jon Glover and even myself, for example, though I don't keep mine as up to date as I should).

Most of us were slow to set up web sites because of the cost or the technical skills required to establish and maintain them. The WebGuild system requires little effort and no specialist knowledge to build your website; it guides you with a series of step-by-step screens, all this at a surprisingly reasonable cost.
