Quote of the Day
Carcanet Press is our most courageous publisher. When you look at what they have brought out since their beginnings, it makes so many other houses seem timid or merely predictable.

Review of Gillian Clarke - Leader (Chester), 1 December 2011

A celebrated wordsmith has been entertaining university staff and students.
Welsh playwrights and national poet Gillian Clarke delivered a poetry reading to staff and students on a visit to Glyndwr University.
Familiar to thousands of teenagers, with her work regularly featured on GCSE and A-level English exam papers, Gillian spent a day on the university's Wrexham campus.
The poetry reading rounded off a day of events which included a visit to the new centre fro the creative industries and an interview on Wrexham's community radio station, Calon FM.
Later, Mrs Clarke offered seasonal refelctions and readings from her work at the university's Catrin Finch Centre.
The visit was organised by Liz Lefroy, service user co-ordinator at Glyndwr University, who said: 'It was a real privilage to welcome Gillian to the university.
"Her work is an inspiration to thousands of writers and school pupils and it was wonderful to hear some of it being read by Gillian herself".
