In Britain the most adventurous list in poetry and in fiction is that being printed according to the ideals of a small press by Carcanet, well away from London. It does look as if the old alliance between the words of the writer and the artistry of making fine books has a vital future.

Review of Gillian Clarke - Stoke-on-Trent Sentinel, 11 February 2012

The National Poet for Wales will give a reading of her work at Keele University.
Gillian Clark is set to appear at the Chancellor's Building, on the university campus, on Monday, February 20 at 7pm.
The 74-year-old from Cardiff is a successful poet, playwright, translatorand is president of Ty Newydd, the writerrs' centre in North Wales, which she co-founded in 1980.
Her poetry is studied by GCSE and A-level students throughout Britain, and she has been the National Poet for Wales since 2008.
Gillian, who now lives in Ceredigion in mid west Wales, was awarded the Queen's Gold Medal for poetry in 2012.
Her recent books include At The Source, a collection of prose, and A Recipe For Water, with a new poetry collection, Ice Music, due later this year.
Tickets for the reading, which is part of the Poetry Live series, cost £5 each.
