Lies and DreamsCliff Ashby
Lies and Dreams is Cliff Ashby’s third collection of poems and followed on the success of In the Vulgar Tongue and The Dogs of Dewsbury. Lies and Dreams brought together the best of Ashby’s earlier work, including the title sequence which was broadcast on BBC Radio 3, as well as some of his shorter published poems. A concern with antecedents, with place, and a strong sense of our common isolation give these poems a nervous urgency, a rough eloquence. |
