Karen Leeder

  • Karen Leeder is a writer, translator and academic who teaches German in Oxford. She has translated a number of modern German writers including of Bertolt Brecht, Michael Krüger, Volker Braun, Ulrike Almut Sandig, Durs Grünbein and Raoul Schrott. Her translations of Durs Grünbein won the Stephen Spender Prize in 2013 and her volume of Evelyn Schlag's Selected Poems, published by Carcanet in 2004, won the 2005 Schlegel-Tieck Prize for Translation from German.
