  • Dr Daniela Caselli is Associate Professor of English at the University of Manchester and President of the Samuel Beckett Society (2016–2019). She has worked on Samuel Beckett and Dante Alighieri (Beckett’s Dantes: Intertextuality in the Fiction and Criticism [2005]) and on ‘difficult’ modernists, such as Dorothy Richardson (Comparative Literature [2017]) and Djuna Barnes (Ladies Almanack [2006] and Improper Modernism: Djuna Barnes’s Bewildering Corpus [2009]). New work on modernism, critical theory, and gender has appeared in Feminist Theory (2010), The Cambridge Companion to American Gay and Lesbian Literature (2015), and Parallax (2016). She has received the support of The Wellcome Trust for her work on the figure of the child in modernism and of the British Academy for her research on Dante in early twentieth-century literature.
