  • John Welch was born in London in 1942. He read Modern Languages at Cambridge and has taught in France and in Pakistan. His poems began to appear in magazines in the late sixties and in 1971 he received an Eric Gregory Award. In 1976 he founded The Many Press which has published books and pamphlets of poetry by a wide range of contemporary poets.
